President Ruto approves county allocation revenue and equalisation bills

President, Ruto, has signed two important bills that will facilitate the access of funds for the 47 devolved units in the upcoming financial year, starting tomorrow.

The County Allocation Revenue Act has allocated a total of Ksh 385.4 billion in shareable revenue to the counties. Nairobi County Government will receive the highest allocation of Ksh 20.07 billion.

Additionally, the Equalisation Fund Act has set aside Ksh 10.3 billion to provide essential services such as water, roads, electricity, and healthcare to marginalized areas across the country.

The signing ceremony took place at State House, Nairobi, and was attended by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Speaker of the Senate Amason Kingi, Attorney General Justin Muturi, Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot, and other dignitaries.
